The suite of photographs and poems by Alan Govenar are Giclée prints on Hahnemühle rag paper. The photographs were made in Tokyo and Kyoto in December 2005 and the poems were completed in Spring 2006.

Each of the poems is a tanka, a five-line Japanese verse form in which the first and third lines have five syllables and the other lines have seven syllables.

The book was designed and assembled as a traditional concertina by Sharon Giesfeldt Van Ruiswyk.
