About
Words Without Photos, an evolving stairwell sound installation, produced by Documentary Arts, is now open at the International Center of Photography (ICP). Walking up and down the 100-foot Soho Stairs, listeners hear the voices of photographers speaking about their practice, how they do what they do and envision the world around them. The words of photographers are juxtaposed to ambient music that at once enhances the experience and challenges listeners to interrogate what they already know and what they may have never visualized before. The featured voices are Aikaterini Gegisian, Clifford Prince King, Ergin Cavusoglu, and Karla Hiraldo Voleau, photographers in the exhibition Love Songs: Photography and Intimacy.
